Back To Basics: Simple Practices To Reclaim Your Energy and Joy

the practice of joy

It’s time to get back to basics. What actually nourishes your heart and soul?

Are things feeling sticky and uncomfortable? Does it seem like past lessons are resurfacing? While it may feel uncomfortable, now is the perfect time to lean in and discover what these experiences are here to show you.

Rather than distracting or numbing, what if you were to lean into the fire to glean the lessons so you can truly move forward and live the life you truly desire?

A life that is:

  • Boundarie
  • Energized
  • Vibrant
  • Abundant

A life that feels good from the inside out!

Reconnecting with your Joy

If you’re ready to feel better and shake off the muck you’ve been sitting in now is a perfect opportunity to revisit your Joy practice.

You may not need to make big, sweeping changes to feel better; often, it’s the small, intentional actions that make the biggest difference.

Ask yourself: What inspired actions will help you feel even just a little bit better today?

Here are a few ideas to consider:

  • Do you need to recommit to your morning routine?
  • Are you nourishing your body with healthy, wholesome foods?
  • How much water are you drinking?
  • Have you spent time in nature lately?
  • Would professional support help you navigate your current challenges?
  • Is it time to take a break from your device and disconnect?
  • How’s your meditation or journaling practice going?
  • Are you seeking connection and community?

Sometimes, it’s not about doing more, but doing what truly fills you up.

The Power of Self-Honoring Practices

Here’s what I know to be true: when I take time for myself, my whole life feels better. It’s not just about checking off a to-do list, but intentionally creating space for practices that nourish my body, mind, and soul.

For me this looks like

  • Morning meditation
  • Joy journaling
  • Moving my body.

These simple practices help me reconnect with my center and start my day from a place of alignment. They’re my way of showing up for myself every day.

What might this look like for you?

Joy is a Practice

Joy is a practice—a choice we make every day. It requires intention, attention, and work. But the good news is that even small shifts can have a big impact. The more we show up for ourselves, the more our lives reflect that inner joy.

How are you willing to show up for yourself? What does your Joy require from you?

Whatever it is, know that you have the power to make small, joyful changes that can lead to big transformations.
